Locating specialist engineers willing to move halfway round the world
We had successfully helped this client, a global pharmaceutical giant, to source talent in the US. So when the company was looking for a senior pharmaceutical engineer to oversee its growing manufacturing operations in Australia, we were the first port of call.
This was a specialist role best suited to the skilled pharmaceutical workforce in Europe. Our task was to research a very precise subset of senior engineers in the UK and Ireland. Not only did they need experience in sterile environments. Not only did they need to be capable of overseeing 4 manufacturing plants. They also had to be willing to consider relocating from Europe to the Southern Hemisphere.
Our comprehensive research into the UK and Irish markets showed us the companies with comparable operations using similar technology. Mapping these companies, we generated a target list of the most relevant engineering profiles in the sector.
Next came the biggest challenge – presenting relocation as an opportunity, not a barrier. We worked with our client to understand the most persuasive selling points of the role and the company, which we promoted strongly to the candidates we approached.
We provided the company with a compelling shortlist of relevant, qualified, engaged candidates. Several of those candidates were selected for interview and our client is confident of securing the right person for the role before the end of Q3.
